Self-care?

What is self care?
Self-care is the practice of intentionally taking actions to prioritize and maintain your physical, mental, and emotional well-being. It involves activities and behaviors that promote health, reduce stress, and enhance the overall quality of life. Self-care is essential for managing the demands of daily life, reducing the risk of burnout, and fostering resilience. As a newly single mum of two young children I now realize how important self care is. I would find myself completely and utterly consumed in motherhood and I was making no time for myself. From the moment I woke up until my children went to sleep everything I did was for them and my needs were way on the back burner and it began to take a toll on me. I became overwhelmed and frustrated. I completely lost myself to motherhood and I needed to find me again.
Here are some examples of how you can practice self-care:
1. Get moving for self-care
Taking part in physical activity is an essential aspect to feeling good! It offers numerous physical, mental, and emotional benefits that contribute to overall well-being. This can be achieved through going to the gym, yoga, cycling, going for long walks or runs etc, anything that gets your body moving.
Incorporating regular exercise into your self-care routine doesn't have to be complicated or time-consuming. Even small amounts of physical activity can make a difference.

2.Emotional self-care
Set boundaries, seek support from others, express your feelings, engage in activities that bring you joy and fulfillment and practice how to understand and manage your emotions in healthy ways.
3.Mental self-care
This type of self-care involves caring for your cognitive and intellectual well-being.
You can achieve this by stimulating your mind through activities such as meditation or practicing mindfulness, engaging in lifelong hobbies or creative pursuits.
4. Social self-care
Social self-care consists of nurturing positive relationships and connections with others. This can include spending time with friends and loved ones, seeking out social support, taking part in group activities or communities, and setting healthy boundaries in relationships.
5. Spiritual self-care
Spiritual self-care focuses on nurturing your sense of meaning, purpose, and connection to something greater than yourself. This can involve practices such as meditation, prayer, reflection, spending time in nature, engaging in religious or spiritual rituals, or exploring existential questions and values.Affiliate Disclaimer:
